Elementary School Outreach

The Service Learning Student Leadership Program will bring CSUMB student leaders into local elementary schools to spark children’s passion for learning and going to college. The Service Learning department highlights social justice, social responsibility, and community-building at CSUMB. In the journey towards being agents of social change, our Service Learning Student Leaders work to help create a positive impact on the community alongside various partner organizations such as The Village Project Inc., Marina Recreation,
Community Partnership for Youth, Thomas Carmen Food Pantry, and many more.

Representation matters. We want to show the children in our local communities that anyone can attend college. Our goal is to create a bridge between children and college students to greater sense of belonging, encouragement, and build college knowledge.

Donations will greatly help our outreach efforts as we create and gather presentation materials, provide transportation for student leaders to elementary schools, and support student leaders in training for this outreach!
