Otter Backers

The Otter Backers Club is back, reimagined to align with a new era of Cal State Monterey Bay Athletics. As the primary annual fundraising arm of the department, Otter Backers fuels the continued growth and success of our 300 NCAA Division II student-athletes.

This renewed model reflects a clear commitment: to build a sustainable, community-driven foundation that elevates the full student-athlete experience. Gifts directly support scholarships, team travel, equipment, sports medicine resources, and championship opportunities.

From Monte’s entry level to the Legacy Scholarship Circle, which funds a full year of tuition and fees for a student-athlete, every gift creates measurable impact.

It is an investment in student-athlete success and the future of Otter Athletics.

All annual gifts to Otter Athletics, including sport-specific contributions, count toward Otter Backers membership. Whether supporting the overall department or a particular program, every donor is recognized as an Otter Backer and plays a vital role in advancing student-athlete success.

Join us in support of our current student-athletes and help us build for the future.
