Gifts to Habitat Stewardship Project at CSUMB contribute to...
Our mission is:
“Bringing nature closer to people and people closer to nature through hands-on participation in community based habitat restoration and environmental education”
Since 1995 the Habitat Stewardship Project has been on the CSUMB campus involving students and faculty in community outreach programs centered around restoring natural habitats with native plants. We get our hands dirty planting natives or via clean-up events. Our K-12 school programs connect students with the natural environment through stewardship based field trips to areas they might not usually visit such as the beach, Fort Ord, or the Creeks of Salinas. While our weekend stewardship events bring together community members and CSUMB students. HSP even has weekend programs taking farmworker families to local natural areas.

CSUMB students are core to our success. We have involved hundreds, if not thousands of Service Learners and student assistants each who has found amazing ways to support our mission, while gaining valuable leadership and future job experiences.
HSP programs are funded solely by grants, contracts and donations. Thank you to everyone who has supported and continues to support the Habitat Stewardship Project Monterey Bay.
